16-byte identifier (CMS field name INSRNC_PLAN_ID) representing submitting entities within in the Health Insurance Oversight System, the federal government’s primary data collection vehicle for the health insurance ‘Exchanges’ Marketplaces. HIOS collects data from health plan issuers that want to become certified health plan (QHP) issuers.
