Description | HIOS is a web-based application that allows CMS's CCIIO to collect health insurance plan data from state entities and Market Issuers. It is aggregated with other CMS data sources and made public on a separate CMS consumer- facing website, www.cms.gov.The data collected through HIOS is published in various formats like reports, fact sheets and other informational documents. HIOS IDs are required as part of the APCD Member Enrollment data. It is captured in ME992. HIOS IDs are comprised of different number groupings. The ‘variant' represents the last 2 digits of the ID value. Variants provide important plan information that can be helpful to analyses. Initially, the Arkansas Health Exchange / QHP utilized only variants 00-06 and 32, 36. The number of variants available have expanded.
