Description | Understanding disenrollment dates set in the future that are not ‘9999-12-31’ or NULL |
Active/Resolved | Active |
Action / Resolution | Disenrollment dates (ME163A) set in the future that are not NULL or 9999-12-31 are not usually data quality errors. They represent actual future term dates. Under the Affordable Care Act, the maximum age the child can be covered under their parents’ health coverage is 26 years. The term date will be set to the end of the month that they complete their 26 years. Note, two other data tips existed describing this nuance and have been combined into this single data tip. |
